Qualifying Criteria

1. Claims Processes
• Accurately assess and validate received claims and any related documentation thereof
• Perform diary maintenance
• Keep a regular follow-up on outstanding claims
• Approve claims within delegated authority after verification of all documents and validation thereof under the policy cover
• Escalate complex claims to Team Leader (TL)
• Assist in the extrapolation of monthly reports on claims
• Exercises proper judgment and decision making to analyze the claims exposure, to determine the proper course of action and to appropriately settle the claim
• Refer all possible declinations to TL

2. Agency/ broker Liaison

• Inform agent companies and brokers of outstanding documents
• Negotiate the settlement and disposition of claims within delegated authority.

3. Ad hoc Duties
• Perform any reasonable task as and when required by Manager.

• Matric
• Higher Certificate in Insurance and/or tertiary qualification preferable
• 2 – 3 years’ experience in a Claims position of Short-term Insurance company

• Basic knowledge of claims procedures
• Basic understanding of claims analysis and settlement
• Understanding relevant legislation
• Understanding Sasria regulations, policies and procedures
• Basic knowledge of Short-term insurance
• Basic technical knowledge of short term and Sasria products

• Good planning and organising skills
